Based on the book "Funny Money" by Ray Cooney. The French version of this play became one of Paris' longest running productions. MR. SNOOK'S ARMY (Dinner Theatre)

Based on a book by Laura Sansing Pfinzenmayher, this is a commissioned play that draws on the World War II history of Baldwin County. It recalls the mostly historical encounter of Mr. Snook's all female "army" of telephone operators and the Italian and German submariners they managed to capture without firing a shot. The play features music and dance from that wonderful era as well as historic glimpses into Baldwin County history.

A fishing lodge in rural Georgia is often visited by "Froggy", a demolition expert who occasionally runs training sessions at the near-by army base. This time "Froggy" has brought along a pathologically shy man, Charlie. "Froggy" tells everyone that Charlie is from an exotic foreign country and speaks no English. Once alone, Charlie overhears more than he should . . .

THE FANTASTICKS (musical)

Two families, one feud in a twist on the age-old love story . . . Add a Spanish storyteller, Indians and pirates to a feud between two fathers that is not what it seems and you have "The Fantasticks," a love story within a story. The musical by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt premieres on the South Baldwin Communiy Theatre stage Sept. 10 and continues through Sept. Sept. 19. It's the unexpected turn in the story that keeps the audience on its toes and the action going through a breathless two acts. The director is Martha Lynch of Virginia and Fairhope. Music is by Jackie Dahlman and Irene Walker.
