Two families, one feud in a twist on the age-old love story . . .
Add a Spanish storyteller, Indians and pirates to a feud between two fathers that is not what it seems and you have "The Fantasticks," a love story within a story. The musical by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt premieres on the South Baldwin Communiy Theatre stage Sept. 10 and continues through Sept. Sept. 19. It's the unexpected turn in the story that keeps the audience on its toes and the action going through a breathless two acts. The director is Martha Lynch of Virginia and Fairhope. Music is by Jackie Dahlman and Irene Walker.
