South Baldwin Community Theatre is not just what you see on the stage . . . like all non-profit 501(c)(3) theatres, each year we must raise a significant percentage of our budget from foundations, corporations, government agencies and individuals who value the arts and understand their importance to our city’s quality of life.
Ticket sales cover only a portion of the funds needed to ensure the excellence of our theatrical productions and the educational opportunities we offer for artists of all ages.
“SBCT has been improving its building to bring you high-quality entertainment in a more pleasant setting,” SBCT president Elaina Herring said. “This season we have expanded our presence in a variety of community projects.” During the 2009-2010 season, SBCT has provided an afterschool theatrical program in Gulf Shores, participated in the Orange Beach Arts Festival and funded the SBCT Performing Arts Scholarship. Each summer, SBCT hosts the University of Alabama’s SummerTide Theatre and offers three weeks of children’s workshops in cooperation with the University of Alabama. South Baldwin Community Theatre simply would not exist without the generosity of our supporters. However you choose to donate, in whatever amount, your contribution, just like the cast and the crew, is essential to bringing the curtain up.
