SummerTide Drama Camp returns to South Baldwin Community Theatre beginning June 5 for its annual three-week session of summer camp for young people. The camp is conducted by the University of Alabama's SummerTide Theatre group. The first week of camp, June 5 to June 9 is geared toward beginners and focuses on basic elements of theatre such as story theatre, dance and music The second week of camp, June 12 to June 16, is for intermediate-level campers and will focus on monologues, simple scene work, improvisation and dance and music. The third week of camp, June 19 to June 23, is for advanced students and includes work in commedia, scene work, creative writing, dance and music. There are no age restrictions for any of the camps, however, campers must be able to read. All camps run from Tuesday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., daily. Onsite registration will be available at 8 a.m. on the Tuesday session of each week's camp, but space is limited and preregistration is encouraged.
2012 SummerTide Drama Camp is scheduled for three, one week sessions:
Session #1, Tuesday thru Saturday, June 5 - 9, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm ~ Beginners
Session #2, Tuesday thru Saturday, June 12 - 16, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm ~ Intermediate
Session #3, Tuesday thru Saturday, June 19 - 23, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm ~ Advanced
Tuition is $100.00 per child per session. To pre-register your child (children) for this
camp, complete and send the form below. In the message block, supply the child's
name(s), age(s), contact telephone number and the session number being requested.
Your payment will be collected when the child comes to camp.
NOTE: A confirmation should be returned to your e-mail address within 48 hours.
If you do not receive a confirmation, re-send the application or call the theatre.
Registrations online will be accepted starting May 1.
